Focus on people The forests, the open country and the green areas in and around towns are very important to the people. Therefore cultural and social values, health and welfare are weighted more heavily in the management of different areas and, in particular, in public areas. The outdoor recreation work of Forest & Landscape Denmark focuses on the use of the areas and the experiences gained. We are engaged in how people use nature, and how outdoor activities develop and influence nature and the local society. We also work with the concept of nature, aesthetics, the quality of perception of nature and the meaning of outdoor recreation on peoples' self-understanding. Our foundation for these tasks is based on a high expertise in modelling and statistics. The aim is to give strong and up to date professionalism to the social dimension of management and training in nature and landscapes.
