The four year Bachelor of Forestry and Landscape Engineering Programme offers broad competences within ecology, management, economic, organisation, juridical and technology and planning.
Learning values You will experience a learning methodology that combines research, theory and practise. Some elements will be taught as single disciplines and others as cross-disciplinary elements to match the reality as close as possible. Throughout the study and the one year management trainee period you will be given space, and also be expected, to foster independence, creativity and entrepreneurship. This competence building capitalises on a planned sound interaction of attitudes, knowledge and skills. You will also experience that your personal values and cooperative abilities will be examined as part of your performance and that you will have to take a reflective stand on your own performance. We believe that the development of these characteristics, firmly united with a profound technical knowledge, proves to be a strong fundament in the challenging and dynamic field of Natural Resource Management.
Jobs Graduates find jobs as foresters, advisors, managers and many other managerial positions within natural resource and personnel management. Your tasks will typical be to plan and organise the establishment and maintenance of plantings for recreational, urban greening or productive and economic purposes, rehabilitation of sites of natural beauty or production of Christmas Trees and greenery. Others find jobs within education and nature interpretation. However most graduates find jobs in Denmark but some also work world wide.
Study Environment Three of your four years of study will be at The Forest College located in a forest area of great scenic only 35 km from the centre of Copenhagen. The college has 180 rooms with hostel facilities all equipped with internet and a range of other facilities. The remaining year is a management practice where you will be assigned to a company or public institution with a core mandate within natural resource management. In general you will experience that your learning will combination of indoor and outdoor activities. |
